During their first semester on campus, trainees rotate through at least three faculty laboratories in order to explore options and opportunities for their doctoral training. Faculty are drawn from the five CBI departments – all have active research programs that span the chemistry-biology interface. Trainees joining their labs will be welcomed as full members of the research team, participating in their mentor's research as they develop their skills and master techniques appropriate to the tasks-at-hand. As trainees progress towards independence, they will design and carry out their own research projects with guidance from their mentor.
