My research focuses on work involving the use of superresolution fluorescence microscopy to elucidate dynamics of single molecules in six dimensions. Through the use of a 6D microscope, analysis algorithms, and complex neural networks, the Landes group hopes to solve gaps in the understanding of chromatography. By leveraging the information gained from single-particle tracking, particularly at the 6D level, optimizations that go beyond traditional empirical analysis will be possible. Knowing the orientational dynamics of antibodies and other biological material will allow us to better predict their separation, thus facilitating this process in medication purification. To analyze this, first the method must be streamlined through the study of organic dyes in a simple polymer system. Once complete, a more complex antibody system may be studied.
