In efforts to participate in public health actions against dementia, especially Alzheimer’s disease (AD), our lab is interested in early-stage diagnosis with synthesized imaging agents used for positron emission tomography (PET) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). My research involves the comparative studies of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic profiles of well-established AD-targeting drugs and our imaging agents. Finding the pharmacokinetic parameters will allow for better synthetic design of more potent and effective Aβ-targeting agents with potential therapeutic effects. It would also help us understand its mode of action and the fundamental biology of AD.
